Google wins auction for bankrupt Spirit Airlines' data, supplier claims IP theft

Google won an auction to buy a large trove of operational data from bankrupt Spirit Airlines, alarming industry players.
Doug Kreuzkamp, founder of airline logistics platform Springshot — which powered Spirit's tech stack for three years up to its final flight — says his company got no notice and believes the dataset likely improperly includes data and IP Springshot owns, not Spirit. The sale raises broader questions about data ownership boundaries in bankruptcy proceedings.
