OpenAI launches GPT-Live-1 voice API with full-duplex chat at $0.05/minute
pbbakkum · x · 2026-09-11
OpenAI's developer account announced that GPT-Live-1, its newest voice model, is now live in the API.
- Full-duplex conversation: agents listen while they speak, with natural interruptions
- Controllable delegation to any model, decoupling the voice layer from the LLM harness
- Priced at $0.05/minute, positioned for scale
OpenAI bills it as bringing ChatGPT's natural back-and-forth to third-party apps; Yelp is among the first deployers.
