Kernel lets browser agents check out online using card aliases, never raw numbers

ycombinator · x · 2026-09-11

Kernel announced that browser agents can now complete online purchases without ever touching card data. Hand your agent Kernel's API, MCP, or CLI and it pays on checkout pages using aliases; the real credential is swapped in at egress, so card numbers never enter the agent's runtime or context, with human-in-the-loop approval. The design addresses both autonomous-spending safety and PCI compliance.
