A researcher who spent three years on pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic resigned from Anthropic today, publicly stating that neither company is acting responsibly and that they are "racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives." The resignation was amplified by Senator Heinrich, who called it "a real warning" and urged clear guardrails to ensure AI is developed safely, ethically, and in the public interest.
