Open-source lid-plane: lid-angle progressive blur for macOS, free vs. paid rivals
jh3yy · x · 2026-09-11
Developer jh3y open-sourced lid-plane, a menu-bar app that uses the MacBook's lid-angle sensor to progressively blur the desktop as you close the lid, keeping apps clickable and focused — free, where he notes others are monetizing similar effects. Available for Apple silicon Macs on macOS 13+; he quips that an LLM could build such an app in five minutes.
