Cohere released North Small Translate 1.0, a translation model proficient across 50+ languages with particular strength in European, Southeast Asian, and East Asian languages. Weights are on Hugging Face under CC BY-NC 4.0 in several quantizations. Cohere frames it as a continuation of its translation roots: "If you can't communicate with the rest of the globe, it's impossible to stay sovereign."
