Apple publishes iPhone Duo foldable HIG: 5.4" outer, 7.6" inner display, controls move to the side

Ahead of launch, Apple updated its Human Interface Guidelines for the foldable iPhone Duo. The core rule: form factor changes freely, but user attention and workflow must never break. Three principles: continuity first; adapt to posture without forking layouts per pose; adaptation means restructuring information hierarchy, not scaling up icons.
Hardware: a 5.4-inch outer OLED (1398×2034, 1.455:1) and a 7.6-inch foldable inner OLED (1878×2670) with an under-display front camera. Because the outer screen is wider and shorter, toolbars and tab bars move to a vertical side axis—both on the closed outer screen and the landscape inner screen.
