UK MP Al Carns: AI has a 10% chance of wiping out humanity, unchecked rollout 'irresponsible'

Labour MP Al Carns told Times Radio that companies developing AI "really need clear and concise controls, checks and balances" to ensure it "doesn't become a threat to the human race." Calling the situation "absolutely bananas," he said: "We're creating something that has a 10 per cent chance of wiping out the human race—they haven't put it through the checks and balances of the AI Security Institute, which is irresponsible."
