Experiment: with a false premise and stale artifacts, only one of three agents found its peers

turtle_bazon · reddit · 2026-09-10

The author ran a harder agent experiment: they deliberately left old artifacts from a previous run and told the agents there were four agents when there were only three, then asked them to find each other. The task proved too hard — only one agent managed to locate the other two, and even it failed to realize there were only three; the other two got trapped by the stale results of the earlier experiment. Full write-up is on the author's blog.
