OpenAI adds former safety lead Paul Christiano to Foundation board and safety committee

Per the Financial Times, OpenAI has appointed Paul Christiano to the nonprofit board that controls the company, as well as its Safety and Security Committee, while observing the for-profit board without a vote.
Christiano led safety research at OpenAI until 2021 and is now a senior tech advisor at the Commerce Department's Center for AI Standards and Innovation, making his dual role notable for AI governance watchers.
