A Twitter debate on AI safety governance: limbslong accused the other side of bad faith, noting that China and the EU regulate AI far more than the US, making America the real scofflaw.

AIandDesign responded that he supports safety but sees ASI as a fundamentally different beast from chatbots: unless the entire planet agrees on the same rules to slow ASI development, he'd rather not have actors of unknown motivations build it first — while admitting he has little faith in governments to do the right thing.
