AI slowdown talk is a cover for compute costs, argues viral critic

An AI commentator argues against calls to slow down AI, saying models are finally capable of genuinely groundbreaking discoveries but priorities are wrong: resources should shift from solving 200-year-old math problems to diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's and aging, plus energy and efficient hardware.
The real reason lab leaders urge slowdown, the post claims, isn't that models are too intelligent but that they can't afford the compute to run and serve them without charging users heavily: "Just be honest and tell us you're broke."
