Scientific Reports retracts paper after easily identifiable AI-slop figures are flagged

A Scientific Reports paper was retracted today after @addictedtoigno1's comments flagged it. The improbable collaboration involved authors from Ethiopia, Chile, India, China, and South Korea, and two of its figures were easily identifiable as AI slop.

Another case of AI-generated artifacts slipping past peer review, with retraction driven by an outside commenter rather than the journal's own checks.
