tcut: script terminal sessions in TypeScript, render reproducible MP4/GIF/SVG/HTML

samgoodwin89 · x · 2026-09-10

tcut is an open-source tool for terminal videos written in TypeScript: record a session live or script it, then render to MP4, GIF, WebM, WebP, SVG or HTML with pixel-identical output every time. Install via bun add -g termcut (Bun ≥ 1.4.1) or standalone binaries for macOS/Linux/Windows, all CI-tested. MP4-family formats need ffmpeg; SVG/HTML/text need nothing. The repo also ships skills, openspec and anti-slop lint tooling, and the author uses it to generate alchemy 2.0's demo video entirely in code.
