GEO/AEO teams at top devtools are all figuring it out alone, no playbook yet

A practitioner shares that after talking with GEO/AEO (generative/answer engine optimization) people at several top devtools companies, the same pattern keeps appearing: everyone is figuring this out alone, with no one-size-fits-all playbook — it's still a black box.
The most common question from every team: "what are the other companies doing?" The author is considering starting a small private group for people actually doing this work, and most of those asked already want in — a sign that AI-search-era optimization is a real new function at devtools companies, yet methodology hasn't consolidated.
