Poll: 68% of US voters back pausing AI development and banning superintelligence

DataProgress tested a bill from Sen. Sanders and Rep. Casar to pause AI development and permanently ban superintelligence: 68% of voters support it, including 72% of Democrats, 70% of Independents, and 63% of Republicans. Sanders says Americans overwhelmingly want AI development paused until clear safety standards are established.
