Cognition researcher Eric Lu drove a fleet of Devin agents to build the world's fastest GPU lattice siever and factor RSA-260, a new public record since RSA-250 in 2020, at 10x lower cost than prior state of the art.

- Started as a proof of concept while optimizing a job scheduler for disaggregated compute.
- Hyperscalers or frontier labs could likely factor RSA-1024 for $30M per number, and less with more optimization.
- RSA-2048 remains a billion times harder and is unaffected; 1024-bit RSA was deprecated in 2013.
