NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman publicly endorsed moving AI compute into space, saying SpaceX is targeting 2027 for its first space-based data center. On Fox Business he argued the orbital economy is the way forward: putting data centers 'some people don't want in their backyard' into space and taking advantage of 'the free fusion reactor' (the sun), while stressing it can't be perpetually taxpayer-funded. Space-based compute is moving from concept to an officially backed agenda.
