OpenAI may pause new Pro subscriptions as GPT-6 Astra demand explodes

OpenAI may temporarily stop accepting new Pro subscriptions because demand for GPT-6 Astra is unprecedented, according to an OpenAI employee.
'We're pulling all the levers possible to sustain the demand, but I've not seen anything like it until now — and we went through very steep growth before. Priority will always be keeping excellent service for existing users, but we might have to pause new Pro subscriptions for a bit if this continues.'
New users' paid access could be temporarily shut off while existing Pro subscribers keep priority.
