Cooperative AI Foundation appoints AISI strategy principal Brigit Goebelbecker as first CEO

The Cooperative AI Foundation (CAIF) has appointed Brigit Goebelbecker as its first Chief Executive Officer, starting October 2026.
Brigit is currently Strategy Principal at the UK AI Security Institute (AISI), where she spent two years helping scale the institute from dozens to hundreds of staff across policy, technical research and operations. Her background includes launching a $100M+ public-private cybersecurity programme for New York City and co-founding the nonprofit Second Day.
