Alignment pioneer Paul Christiano joins OpenAI Foundation board and safety committee

OpenAI announced that Paul Christiano, founder of the Alignment Research Center and former NIST staffer, is joining the OpenAI Foundation Board and its Safety and Security Committee, which governs safety practices across OpenAI. He will also serve as a non-voting observer on the OpenAI Group PBC Board, bringing an independent voice to challenge assumptions and reinforce accountability on critical decisions.
