Alignment researcher Paul Christiano joins OpenAI Foundation Board and safety committee

OpenAI announced that Paul Christiano, founder of the Alignment Research Center, is joining the OpenAI Foundation Board and its Safety and Security Committee, which governs safety practices across the company. His alignment work and NIST tenure are cited as bringing independent oversight and accountability. He will also serve as a non-voting observer on the OpenAI Group PBC Board.
