Microsoft agrees to 10 enforceable AI privacy principles for schools with teachers union

Microsoft signed an agreement with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second-largest US teachers union, and its NYC affiliate UFT, committing to ten contractually enforceable AI safety and privacy principles. Terms include not training models on student or educator data, limiting data collection, and plainly disclosing how its tools work to families. The deal came a week after two major school systems banned student-facing AI.
