Gallup: 21% turned to AI for health answers after feeling dismissed by their doctor

A widely shared Gallup survey from late last year found that 21% of respondents said they had turned to AI for health-related help because they had previously felt dismissed by a healthcare provider.

Dr. Howard Liu, who shared the finding, notes that regardless of one's stance on AI in healthcare, the importance of empathy is real — and the data suggests gaps in patient-doctor communication are being filled by AI.
