Ex-OpenAI/Anthropic pretraining researcher resigns, calling the AI race a gamble on superintelligence

A researcher who spent three years on pretraining at both OpenAI and Anthropic announced their resignation, saying neither company is acting responsibly and both are racing straight toward self-improving superintelligence. The amplifying post frames AI as the biggest prisoner's dilemma ever created: nobody can slow down because rivals won't, so a collection of individually rational decisions is steering everyone toward zero-cost intelligence — and possibly zero need for humans.
