Smartphone footage replaces motion capture: one dance, any character, any world
uisato · reddit · 2026-09-09
Uisato Studio shows a cheap alternative to traditional motion capture: a single smartphone recording of dancer Sara Silkin's performance is retargeted onto entirely different characters, costumes, sets and visual worlds — no mocap pipeline involved.
Everything was made in the studio's Motion Control mode, and the creator plans to release more experiments, tutorials and project files via Instagram, YouTube and Patreon.
