Builder's Lament: AI Agents Are Becoming Yet Another Inbox to Check

A practitioner building in the agent space argues that agents are turning into another dashboard users must check daily, on top of Slack, email, GitHub, Linear and Notion — approving actions, answering follow-ups, and copying results back into the original tools.
He says dashboards still make sense for setup, permissions, logs and debugging, but the ideal UX is dispatching work where it already lives and having the agent return there when done or when a real decision is needed.
