Weaviate AutoIndex Turns Retrieval Scores Into Diagnoses via an Analysis Agent Feedback Loop
CShorten30 · x · 2026-09-09
On the Weaviate Podcast, Sam explains the core gap in retrieval optimization: a retrieval score tells you whether search improved, not why.
AutoIndex gives an analysis agent tools to inspect failed searches and turn a bare metric into an actual diagnosis. A code agent then uses that feedback to propose targeted representation changes while keeping the retriever fixed.
The result is a feedback loop — metric to diagnosis to code change — as a new approach to search optimization.
