Datalab API makes inaccessible PDFs usable for pennies, passes all 91 PDF/UA-1 checks
VikParuchuri · x · 2026-09-09
Vik Paruchuri (Datalab) says their new API makes garbled PDFs usable for blind users for pennies, vs >$100 for human remediation. He doesn't claim 100% compliance — a person is still involved — but every output passes automated conformance checks (veraPDF PDF/UA-1, 91 of 91), with stricter internal audits flagging spots for review. It's human review, not human remediation.
