Industry data shows Google is now answering nearly all "People Also Ask" boxes with AI Overviews.
- Allintitle's Also Ask Miner data shows PAA answers have been 100% AI-generated since August 2026.
- AlsoAsked analyzed 19.2M English queries from 2026 and found a dramatic monthly increase: 97% of PAA answers in the first week of September were AIOs, up from just 12% 14 months earlier.
- Reported by Barry Schwartz of Search Engine Roundtable; the shift has major implications for SEO traffic.
For sites relying on PAA visibility, that entry point has effectively been taken over by AI answers.
