Ink & Switch unveils composable malleable computing; Reinhardt says LLMs still can't refactor it

Ink & Switch published new work on a composable, collaborative malleable computing environment: the same data collaboratively edited across different tools, tools themselves collaboratively editable, bidirectional data views via lenses, all in a moldable hierarchy. Ben Reinhardt notes with disappointment that LLMs aren't yet good enough to 'take this software and refactor it to be malleable and local-first' — deep refactoring remains a blind spot for AI coding.
