Indie developer Ayush shared a transparent monthly recap of OutlierKit, his YouTube analytics tool:
- Revenue: approaching $3,500/month ($3,200 MRR). After a blockbuster May, June crashed and lost about $3,000.
- Fixes: performance and UX issues from processing large volumes of data were addressed, stabilizing the product.
- Product updates: Competitor Studio now surfaces competitors' sponsors and monetization strategies, with many users treating it as a sponsor intelligence tool; the API and MCP launched in July are maturing; the Claude connector marketplace brings a few daily users, though conversions are unclear.
- Growth: affiliates are picking up, and the team is exploring influencer marketing and webinars. The churn strategy is twofold: attract better-fit customers at the top of the funnel and retain them longer with a better product.
- Results: churn has dropped significantly over two months and LTV is at an all-time high.
