gpt-image-2.5 reportedly live in ChatGPT but absent from API, access unclear
andpoul · x · 2026-09-09
Developer andpoul says he hasn't been tweeting about gpt-image-2.5 because it isn't showing up for him on the API yet, and it's hard to tell which model ChatGPT is actually using. He's asking whether anyone has gotten access.
Reads as an unverified signal that OpenAI's next-gen image model gpt-image-2.5 may already be partially live in ChatGPT, though the API rollout hasn't reached everyone.
