Kunlun Tech (昆仑万维) chairman and CEO Fang Han appeared on Beijing TV's tech-transfer program "转在北京," discussing how the company moved from lab to market.
- Fang said the company had three technologies with world-class lab results but struggled with GPU costs and compliance until Beijing's policy support, public platforms, and industry matchmaking helped it commercialize.
- He revealed that Kunlun's AI products now generate over $800M in annual revenue, and pledged to keep opening up its AI capabilities from its Beijing base.
- The episode also featured startups in AI energy, datacenter efficiency, and edge AI; Fang praised Wange Zhiyuan's offline edge AI device Amis, saying cheap privacy-preserving solutions have major commercial potential.
