A pragmatic takedown of the 'Quantum AI' buzzword: quantum computing is an accelerator for optimization, simulation and specific linear algebra, not a replacement for classical deep learning — don't expect GPT-6 on a quantum machine. Real bottlenecks are data provenance and energy cost; quantum helps in sampling and optimization, not training. The most interesting quantum AI is discriminative/simulative (e.g., drug molecule simulation in minutes vs. years), not generative. On security, Shor's algorithm makes 'harvest now, decrypt later' a real threat, arguing for post-quantum cryptography plus blockchain provenance. Cautiously optimistic: those fluent in both quantum theory and enterprise constraints will be rare and valuable by 2030.
