Afinetheorem adds that he finds the NYU letter "really annoying" because it failed to mention their work also used unreleased Anthropic models. He argues OpenAI would obviously not offer to publish jointly under those circumstances, making the omission puzzling — revealing the research involved unreleased models from multiple frontier labs.
