Brooke Joseph left Waterloo without graduating, joined the 12-person startup Sky by Software as an intern, and six months later OpenAI acquired it. Now an OpenAI Member of Technical Staff, she does agent post-training research on computer use — teaching models to click, type, and operate any software a human can. In this interview she discusses taking jobs she's "unqualified" for, why computer use is the road to AGI, when not to let an agent use your computer, and how she keeps learning by hand.
