Dev dissects GPT-6 Astra's computer use loop, makes it 2.5x faster with Stagehand

OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra wowed the internet by using Blender to generate 3D worlds, a byproduct of its new computer use capability. A developer dug into the source code and wrote up the loop that powers it: Astra executes code against the a11y tree. Building on that, he built a translator converting Astra's Playwright commands into Stagehand commands, making Astra's computer use 2.5x faster — with Astra batching an entire logo into one command and one-shotting it.
