FOIA'd Pentagon frontier AI contracts reveal DoD had legal paths to exit Anthropic deal

The Intercept and LASSTlaw FOIA'd the Department of Defense and published its frontier AI contracts, giving the public a first look at the actual terms.
Will Rinehart argues that on close reading, DoD appears to have had plenty of legal options to cancel its contract with Anthropic, and that the text doesn't favor the government less than suspected — contradicting some framing of the deal. He suspects this is the contract previously speculated about and invites others to check his reading.
