Preregistered study finds both writing skill and CS background predict vibe-coding performance

A preregistered study of 100 students found that written-communication proficiency predicts vibe-coding performance, and so does CS achievement — which stays significant even after controlling for domain-general cognitive skills, suggesting it captures something specific to CS training. Tasks were curated via an eight-expert consensus process in a purpose-built controlled environment.
