Enactic founder exits humanoid robotics startup after OpenArm open-source success

The founder of Enactic, a humanoid robotics startup, is leaving after three years. The company began as a three-person research unit betting that humanoids could do useful work alongside people.
The team built and open-sourced OpenArm in July 2025, and the project spread far beyond expectations — teams at NVIDIA, Hugging Face, RLWRLD and others now build on it, with a community larger than the original group.
The founder says disagreements over team growth, outside capital, and independence led to the split after months of discussion. Enactic continues under co-founder and CTO Daijiro Mori, while the founder is exploring what to build next.
