Researchers point to private synthetic data generation as a provably safe training path
niloofar_mire · x · 2026-09-09
Responding to John Schulman, researcher Ashwinee Panda points to another path: generate synthetic data with private synthetic data generation methods (their ICLR 24 paper, plus work by Niloofar Mire et al., ICLR 24), then train on the private synthetic data with formal guarantees.
A concrete research reference for provably safe training on sensitive data.
