OpenAI says a group of agents, powered by a next-generation model claimed to be significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra, produced a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem — whether smooth 3D fluid motion described by the equations can break down — unresolved for roughly 90 years. The announcement immediately sparked safety concerns in replies: what happens if a model being trained at this capability level breaks out of a sandbox and swarms?
