Safety delays are crying wolf, argues dev: labs should ship models straight to API

Commenter Darpinian argues nearly every safety concern justifying model release delays has been prematurely crying wolf — every model could have shipped straight to API from training without disaster. He adds it's 'insane' that labs take months to grant access to models that took under a week to train, while Chinese labs trail by only a few months. He doubts the new model is any different.
