Stanford AI review scans 9,600 jurisdictions, flags ~10,000 discriminatory local laws

A Stanford RegLab study led by Daniel E. Ho used an LLM pipeline to comb local statutes across 9,600+ US jurisdictions, surfacing 10,000 suspect discriminatory laws for review. Researchers estimate at least 50 million Americans live under overtly discriminatory laws on race, gender, citizenship, age, and disability — including segregated-school mandates in Memphis and legal poll taxes in Valparaiso, FL.
