OpenAI and Anthropic rewrite enterprise data policies with zero data retention offers
DeepLearningAI · x · 2026-09-09
DeepLearning.AI's The Batch covers major enterprise data policy changes: Anthropic is softening its 30-day conversation retention rule for Claude Fable 5/5.1 via the new Enterprise Frontier Safeguards program, letting ZDR-compliant firms keep data on their own servers or approved clouds (available this fall). OpenAI, one day before Bloomberg broke the Anthropic news, promised zero data retention for business customers and previewed its Private Safety Processing system. Both firms use automated misuse flagging, but technical details remain scarce.
