OpenAI's Sebastien Bubeck publicly clarified the recent math-proof dispute with Anthropic: a screenshot shows he reached out to Levent to coordinate releases with good intentions, and he denies ever asking for Levent to be removed from authorship of his own work.
He explains he only learned during a call with Tristan that the Anthropic team had solved Euler but not Navier-Stokes; the two sides then brainstormed paths forward, including Tristan lead-authoring a rewrite of OpenAI's Navier-Stokes proof — the context in which he remarked "it would be simpler if Levent was not an Anthropic employee."
