QA engineer hands Codex his DevOps learning project — it finishes everything, then asks what's left to learn

A QA engineer moving into DevOps gave Codex access to his self-study repo (Git, TypeScript, Playwright, CI/CD). Codex inspected the code, found the problem, modified files, added regression tests, fixed Git line-ending issues, ran all validations, and created the commit — with a clean summary — while he kept doing his day job.
The interesting part is his question: how do you learn with coding agents without outsourcing the entire learning process? His current plan is to build new concepts manually step by step and use agents mainly for reviews, repetitive work, and catching mistakes.
