OpenAI's dev account showcases GPT-Image-2.5's controllable editing: change a jacket while keeping the subject in place, update backgrounds while preserving product images, revise copy without reworking composition. The model follows editing instructions more precisely, preserving subject and composition around each change. The previously announced Flare variant delivers higher-quality images at 50% lower latency than GPT-Image-2, while Sunburst adds precision for detailed editing, with more natural lighting, richer textures, and better handling of complex layouts and transparent backgrounds.
