Independent researcher Andy Matuschak shares an early experiment in annotation fusion:
- Workflow: annotate a paper with ink → take a photo → the markup is segmented, turned into structured data, and re-superimposed on the clean original PDF.
- He finds it stimulating that this is now possible, but argues it's conceptually wrong: it encourages a 'write-only' stance with no good way to keep working with the markup in context.
- He plans to keep iterating.
A neat demo of AI turning analog input into structured data — and a sharp note that conversion alone doesn't make a thinking tool.
